Urban Ed Academy invites you to an inspiring evening — Sneakers & Scholars: Celebrating Black Joyful Learning on November 7th at Terra Gallery in San Francisco. This special event honors the power of representation in education and the incredible impact of Urban Ed Academy Fellows on the lives of their students.

Come as you are and wear your best kicks! We encourage you to wear your favorite sneakers to symbolize the journey we’re on together — stepping forward in style and purpose to ensure a brighter future for students.

About Urban Ed:

At Urban Ed Academy, we’re on a mission to ensure every student gets the chance to learn from a Black male educator. We know representation in the classroom is a powerful catalyst for improving educational outcomes for all students.

Our educator fellowship program, Man the Bay, is all about tackling the obstacles that Black male educators face entering the profession. We recruit, train, house, and support their professional development throughout all 4-years — because students deserve to see themselves in the classroom.

Celebrate with us on November 7th!

Every donation supports our programs. Learn more about our impact and work below. Can't attend the gala? Donate and invest in the next Black male educators in Bay Area classrooms.

Urban Ed Academy is grateful to our supporters!
